Purely aromatic and lively. With lovely aromas of fresh apple and citrus, this wine surprises the palate with great spice components as well as exotic fruit and refreshing acidity.

Medium green-yellow. An expressive nose displays intense aromas of nettles, gooseberry, flinty minerals and discreet toasty oak. Concentrated and opulent, with juicy, very ripe mango and lichee flavors giving a sweet impression to this dry wine. Medium to full in body, with edgy but well-integrated sauvignon acidity. Subtle vanilla, toast and yellow bell pepper notes linger on the finish.

On the nose, and interesting mix of tropical fruits, particularly papaya and herbal notes. Some zippy citrus also. Crisp and bright on the palate. Some tropical flavors to go with a bit of stone fruit. Fresh cut hay. Long finish.

“From nearly 50 year old vines in what Wieninger calls “the filet” of the Nussberg, his 2006 Rosengartl Alte Reben “the historically greatest Viennese vineyard that it was always my dream to have a part of,” is nearly half Gruner Veltliner, with the rest predominantly Pinot Blanc, Neuburger, and Roter Traminer. Rose petal, Szechuan pepper, lentil and sweet pea in the nose represent a lovely meld of Veltliner and Traminer.

Shiny ruby hue; fine creamy bouquet; lengthy palate with fresh Pinot fruit and elegant tannins.

Spicy, peppery, and even exotic notes like grape fruit and pineapple. The very clear, juicy fruit and beautiful acidity play make this a very animated, pleasurable wine to drink. Because of its structure and lengthy mineral palate, this is a wine of depth -even with its medium body. A wonderful representative Veltliner from the Kamptal.

Sauvignon Blanc Sulz offers a more interesting personality than the corresponding Kittenberg. Nut oils, orange zest, mint, and honey inform the nose and a silken, glossy-textured palate. Imposingly ripe at an unexceptional 13.5% alcohol, this wine’s suggestion of sweetness is not a function of residual sugar (not at a mere four grams) and it finishes with lovely refreshment.
