Rich dark crimson, violet edges. Rich plump fruit cake, fresh plums, prunes and mocha tones.
Nice vanillin oak, and lifted potpourri. Soft, rich, firm Merlot, showing intense briars, forest floor berries, earthy, fruit cake characters with intense firm oak, and nicely balanced. Deep layered tannins, and textured acidity and good persistent palate.

An impressive wine having everything that you expect from a top Merlot: great depth and complexity, chocolate, mocha and blackberry aromas with spice notes. Being grown in a cooler climate pronounces its smoothness and elegance. The separately bottled “Barrel No. 2” of this vintage is the 2007 winner of the German Red Wine Prize in the category international grape varieties.
