Pinot Noir

Unoaked. Light, bright pinky red. Fresh sour-cherry nose. Attractively sweet fruit but with well-judged tannin foundation.

“Cherry, soft tannins, rhubarb, rosehip, vanilla. Certainly complex enough, with a good floral lift too. Satisfying!” - 17/20 points, Jancis Robinson

A mix of red and blue pinot fruit is nuanced by touches of earth, underbrush and a smoky hint that is also reflected by the round and notably richer medium-bodied flavors that are more concentrated, delicious and serious while culminating in a solidly long finish.

“Discreet if not invisible wood frames a much earthier and equally spicy nose of red and dark berry fruit aromas that complement well the rich, full and generous medium-bodied flavors that are supported by good levels of dry extract and excellent length for villages. Worth a look.” -87-90 points, Burghound,2007

“Aromatic depth with a deft touch of wood that merges into more concentrated flavours that are round, suave and rich while possessing a supple and velvety mouth feel plus a bit more length on the firm and delicious finish” - 86 points, Burghound

An interesting combination of the weight of the fruit grown in this vineyard with Champy’s 2006 austerity

“Showing a little development with briar and spice, mingling with fading red fruits; the palate delivers a mature wine, disarmingly generous at first, then the structure takes over and delivers a fully mature, yet fresh pinot noir experience. Screwcap.” – 93 points, James Halliday, 2005

Dark ruby red. Deep red cherry and raspberry fruits complexed with French oak spice and mocha notes. Ripe red fruit characters give sweetness through-out the palate. Fruit and oak tannin combine to give complexity, length, structure and richness.

Bright vibrant red. Lifted sweet and sour cherry nose with soft chocolate oak. A soft, balanced palate of dark plum with rounded tannins and subtle spicy tones.
