Riesling

Pale Straw. Bright citrus and Nashi pear with richness of honey and brioche. Made with late picked Riesling grapes from the Yarra Valley, this wine is simply delicious! Amazing balance of viscosity and acidity. Luscious honey with freshness of Nashi pear and lemon complemented by great natural acidity and minerality.

Pale in colour, with a light green hue. Fresh pineapple, lime and citrus aromas with some honey and beeswax from a small blended botrytis component. The palate is well balanced with a vibrant grapefruit acidity balanced by a touch of residual sugar.

''07 RP-92: "A Chartreuse-like note of herbal and floral distillates, with prominent buddleia and wisteria rises from the glass, ushering in a luscious palate suffused with ripe peach, bitter-sweet floral perfume, high-toned, resinous herbs, peach kernel bitterness, and a nearly ineffable, tactile sense of minerality" - 92 points, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate.

"The Nigl 2007 Riesling Dornleiten features peach, apple, and green hazelnut in a snappy, refreshing, yet extract-rich package. This lightest of Nigl's 2007 Rieslings is still a full 12.5% in alcohol" - 87 points, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

“Very crisp, lively and fresh; a wine which reinforces the right of the Grampians to be regarded as a top class region for riesling, the green apple, citrus and pear flavours delicate yet intense. ” - 94 points James Halliday, 2008

Aromas of apricot and lemon sorbet with hints of grapefruit and passionfruit are supported by a bright and sweet palate.  Layered with lime and orange citrus this wine has mineral acidity and a long finish.

“Open and generous, this rather modern and distinctly Germanic riesling has a floral, honeysuckle-like fragrance whose delicate perfume of citrus and pear precede a smooth, generous and supple palate that culminates in a clean, refreshing halbtrocken-like finish. It finishes with lingering fresh flavours of apple and pear backed by a slightly oxidative complexity.” – 93 points, Jeremy Oliver, 2005
