Larrikin
Country:
Australia Larrikin is a brand produced by the Rathbone Wine Group which takes advantage of extensive grower relationships throughout the Barossa Valley. The wine, produced by Pete Bissel at the Parker Estate is a perfect example of the group's philosophy and what is arguably Australia's best known region, combining big, bold fruit with a refinement that is indicative of all RWG wines.
Made from an 80-year old Shiraz vineyard, and aged in both French and American oak, this "diamond in the rough" (the meaning of the Aboriginal name, Larrikin), is a dense, full-bodied effort offering copious quantities of jammy blackberry fruit and bold, creamy new oak flavours. Spicy, hedonistic, and intense, this low acid, plump, jammy Shiraz will have many fans" - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
