Tedeschi seems to struggle achieving a consistent level of quality across all of their offerings. I found the simpler wines better balanced than the more important bottles. This may very well be a case of trying too hard, as the estate is clearly capable of making beautiful wines.

A rather high-toned character on the nose here, with a spirity and foxy edge. The palate has fruit, flesh and overall an attractive composition. There is a lot of good substance, with piles of ripe, chewy tannins and firm acidity.

The 2005 Barolo Villero offers excellent depth in its dark fruit, spices and minerals, with good richness that carries through to the long finish. The wine’s balance is commendable; all that is lacking is a measure of the character that this great vineyard is capable of. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2022.

This is a beautiful reserve wine. The coluor is deep red. The wine open on an elegant and complex nose dominated by blackberries, strawberries, spices and balsamic hints. Them mouth is filling and elegant and the nobility of the tannins leads to a remarkable length. This wine shows an outstanding ageing capacity.
